Guildford, Surrey, 19th May 2015 – Semafone®, the international provider of secure payment technology for call centres, has been selected as one of the top 100 businesses on The Sunday Times Business SME Export Track list.

This list was compiled by Fast Track, the Oxford-based research and networking events company. The award ranks Britain’s 100 private small and medium sized enterprises with the fastest growing international sales over the last two years.

Since 2013 Semafone has experienced international growth, particularly across North America and Canada and has been working with many leading brands including Aimia, AGL, Premier Farnell and Rogers. In addition, Semafone has created international partnerships with AsiaPay, BT and Sabio. In 2014 Semafone was granted a United States patent (#8750471) for its secure card payment technology and has patent applications pending in the EU, India and South Africa.

“Due to high profile data beaches hitting organisations such as AT&T, Target and Staples, many businesses are beginning to pay more attention to security,” said Tim Critchley, CEO of Semafone. “What is more, as consumers are becoming more cautious and aware of the threat of fraud, the need for PCI DSS is expanding across the globe.”

Semafone provides a payment solution for call centres wishing to comply fully with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) without interrupting the conversation between the customer and the service agent. Semafone allows customers to use their telephone keypad to enter credit or debit card details; the patented technology masks the sound of the individual keys so that they cannot be identified and sends the details directly to the bank for processing. This leaves service agents free to remain on the call to provide assistance with any problems, and also means that recording systems can continue uninterrupted.
