Iain Sutcliffe joins from Avaya

Guildford, Surrey, 17 October 2014. Semafone®, the provider of secure payment technology for call centres, has appointed Iain Sutcliffe as global channel sales director.

Iain, who joins Semafone from Avaya, will be responsible for building Semafone’s global network of resellers and supporting the development of Semafone’s strategic partnerships.  Iain has 30 years’ experience in the telecommunications and IT industry and in the past decade he has worked closely with BT on behalf of Avaya’s channel programme.

Semafone’s network of partnerships extends throughout the payments and contact centre industries and includes business and technology companies such as Accenture, Dimension Data, Elite Telecom and Sabio as well as telephony providers BT and Gamma.

“After 14 years at Avaya, I decided to join Semafone because I believe it delivers a world-class solution to address fraud and compliance in the card-not-present space, providing incredibly cost-effective protection to businesses and end customers alike,” commented Iain. “Semafone also has the sort of supportive and collaborative culture that makes it a great place to work.”

“Iain brings a wide breadth of experience to this position,” commented Tim Critchley, CEO of Semafone. “Not only has he fulfilled many different roles in channel management, but he has worked across a wide range of industry sectors, from local and national government to global banking and financial markets.”
