Semafone Achieves Level 1 Service Provider Status for Version 3.2 of the PCI DSS Standard

New certification confirms Semafone’s security levels for high-volume payment transactions

We are delighted to announce that Semafone has become one of a small number of technology vendors to become a certified Level 1 service provider under the latest release of the PCI DSS standard, Version 3.2, published in April 2016. As a Level 1 service provider, Semafone’s solution can be used by merchants handling over 6 million transactions per year.

The new certification, which also includes some additional features of Semafone, in both our hosted and managed service solutions, gives us greater flexibility to further develop these products in accordance with the PCI DSS rather than simply with PA DSS.

Semafone places security at the heart of its operations, securing personal data for more than 60 organisations in 14 countries on five continents. This latest accreditation demonstrates Semafone’s commitment to the PCI Standard and its customer’s data security. Semafone has now been accredited as a Level 1 service provider for three years, and is regularly assessed by a QSA.  The company also holds the three other leading accreditations; ISO 27001:2013, PA DSS certification for its payment solution, and is a registered Visa level 1 Merchant Agent.
