Semafone Milestones

  1. Semafone appoints Iain Regan as Global Sales Director. Iain brings strong commercial and industry expertise to help drive further international growth.

  2. Semafone announces a record trading year, achieving a 38% increase in revenues to £5.3m and doubling its overseas business to £2.5m.

  3. Semafone wins 2015: Customer Choice - Best Call Center Solution at the CNP Expo in Orlando.

  6. Semafone and Eckoh agree to a confidential settlement of their dispute over alleged infringement and invalidity of Semafone’s UK Patent (No. GB 2,473,376) to the mutual benefit of both parties.

  7. Iain Johnston appointed as COO. He will be responsible for all Semafone product development and delivery, including research, design and development, production, implementation and customer support.

  8. Semafone signs Global Agreement with BT. BT will integrate Semafone technology into its own contact centre and voice platforms to provide customers with a secure means of accepting card payments by telephone.

  9. Semafone achieves ISO 27001:2013 certification making Semafone the only IT security vendor to have achieved four of the leading secure payment accreditations.

  10. dlc, one of the largest debt collection agencies in the UK, selects Semafone technology to enhance their data security and give peace of mind to customers making payments over the phone.

  11. Semafone CFO Katherine Grover named in the Timewise 2014 Power Part Time list, a roll call of 50 powerful UK executives who all work part time or flexibly.

  12. Ian Sutcliffe appointed as Semafone’s global channel sales director. He will be responsible for growing Semafone’s global network resellers and supporting the development of strategic partnerships.

  13. Semafone receives £4m growth capital investment from BGF (Business Growth Fund) and a further £1m from Octopus investments and other existing shareholders.

  14. Semafone awarded a United States patent for its secure payment method. The US patent allows Semafone to protect its intellectual property in North America.

  15. Semafone signs a partnership agreement with Sabio - the customer contact technology specialist. Sabio will incorporate Semafone into its portfolio of PCI compliance solutions for its Avaya customers.

  16. Semafone becomes the first vendor to achieve three of the highest levels of accreditation; PA-DSS, PCI Level 1 certification and be a registered Visa merchant agent.

  22. Semafone launches a trustmark, “Secured by Semafone®” for secure telephone payments, providing a guarantee of security for customers. Ultra Communications and Automated Transaction Services (ATS) will include the mark in their own offerings.

  23. Semafone V3 software is released, becoming the only secure voice application to achieve PA DSS compliance.

  24. Semafone announces partnership with voice and data communications specialist Gamma to provide a fully hosted secure payments solution for contact centres, reducing the cost of compliance compared to the price of CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) deployment.

  25. An exciting new project begins with Paycorp, the Australian payment solutions company, Semafone is to be deployed by global interconnection and data centre company Equinix.

  26. Virgin Atlantic Airways selects Semafone to protect card data throughout its contact centres worldwide.

  27. Servebase provides its customers with access to Semafone technology via its hosted payment page and gateway service, ANYpay.

  28. Yorkshire Water use Semafone for all customer telephone payments.

  29. Nemo Personal Finance, the secured loans provider, announces its implementation of Semafone to ensure that customer payments by telephone are compliant with Payment Card Industry (PCI) security regulations.

  70. Semafone is established as a separate company by David Jackson and Charles Cooper-Driver. Tim Critchley takes the helm as Semafone CEO while Graham Thompson becomes head of sales and Mick Beadle is appointed as Operations Director.

  71. Manchester Airports Group begins using the Semafone technology as part of its agreement with Careline Services.
